Canton Calvary Mission

Today concluded three days of helping out at the Canton Calvary Mission with their VBS. It was a really good experience and I forged quite a few friendships with the kids there. Despite their environment and life experiences, they are good kids and with a fun safe place like CCM and the love of those who volunteer there, many have a chance to one day break the cycle that most others won’t have an opportunity to do. I look forward to going back and helping out again. In the meantime, I can only hope that I was able to make a difference in the lives of those children I connected with.

my car is fixed

I picked up my Honda from the body shop today after a week & a half. What a job they did. Waikem Ford (who also is part of Waikem Honda) did the repairs and it’s a fantastic job. After having body work done at some other local shops and been disappointed in the quality of work, especially when I had to have the bodywork redone at one shop, it’s nice to get my car back in like new condition. Of note, though, I will have to take it back and have them check a back window that seems to be a bit cloudy - possibly from sandblasting or paint overspray. I highly recommend Waikem and will definitely use them again if I need body work done. As a side note, it is so nice to be back behind the wheel of my Civic after driving a Chevy Cobalt for almost two week. Even though it was brand new and fully loaded, it doesn’t compare to my Honda.
07-15-2008 Update: Took the car back and within 10 minutes they had the window cleaned and good as new.

ronyoder.com is back (well almost). I will be combining my photoblog ronyoderphotography.com with this site and adding a section showcasing my graphic design work. The first step will be coming up with an original design for this site.
