designer’s block
Filed Under Personal, Web Design | Leave a Comment
OK. So writers get “writer’s block” sometimes. It stands to reason that designers would sometimes get “designer’s block” does it not? This week, I seem to have succumbed to it. All I had to do was create a simple web site design. As this week has come to a close, I still don’t have a design I am satisfied with. Last week the ideas were flowing and I created a website in just a couple hours. This week-nothing. Granted, I feel completely burned out. I haven’t taken a vacation since last year and I only got back into serious web design in the past month (after almost a year hiatus). I only hope this block is temporary and, after a relaxing weekend, I’ll be back in groove.

Hail
Filed Under Personal | Leave a Comment
The saying “When it rains, it pours” has never been truer. After just getting my car back from the body shop only two weeks ago, a hail storm has damage the entire top of it. The hail was about an inch in diameter and came down like bullets. All I could do is just stand there and let it get beaten. This is the second time this has happened to me. From now on, the saying should be “When it rains, it hails.”

Canton Calvary Mission
Filed Under Personal | Leave a Comment
Today concluded three days of helping out at the Canton Calvary Mission with their VBS. It was a really good experience and I forged quite a few friendships with the kids there. Despite their environment and life experiences, they are good kids and with a fun safe place like CCM and the love of those who volunteer there, many have a chance to one day break the cycle that most others won’t have an opportunity to do. I look forward to going back and helping out again. In the meantime, I can only hope that I was able to make a difference in the lives of those children I connected with.
Below is a group photo of the children and volunteers who helped out this week.
